Assessment Step 7: Intraoral Radiology

Intraoral radiography offers the capability to view pathology below the gum line, as well as inside and around the tooth. Use dental films as part of a complete yearly oral assessment to evaluate apparent pathology and monitor progression or resolution of treated disease.

The Importance of Dental Radiography

The radiography step plays an integral part in the ORAL ATP® visit. Films have revealed disease not visible to the eye in more than 30% (Verstraete, Kass, et al., 1998) of cases.
